What is Most Important to You?

Over the past week, I have only been to school one day. We had several snow days, and I was at home with a sick baby for a couple days. It is really neat how God's timing is always perfect! He knows exactly what we need just when we need it! Instead of taking sick days, I was able to use the snow days as time to stay home with my sick baby and love on her while she was getting better! :)

While I was off from school, I had a lot more extra time than I would normally have during a 'work week'. I spent some precious moments with Lucy Jane that I don't normally get during the week. We had several pajama days, shared breakfast, naps, and lots of play time! She is always smiling and that makes my heart super happy! I am so thankful for a happy baby!

Over the break I learned how often we get caught up in the 'busyness' of our lives and do not take the time to appreciate the things that really matter! I have made a committment to not get so caught up in the stresses and struggles of daily living and focus more on my family and making an eternal impact.

"Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." James 4:14

Life is over so quickly. We need to cherish each day that God gives us and let him know that we are thankful for his many blessings.

"I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds." Psalm 9:1

First Family Vacation

The beach was a great choice for our first family vacation! We flew to Boca Raton, Florida to meet some friends from Minnesota for a weekend getaway. Their cousin has a beach house there, so we only had to pay for airfare which was wonderful! We left on a Thursday night and flew into the Miami airport. (Crazy) We enjoyed a weekend of relaxing and enjoying Lucy Jane seeing the beach for the first time!

Lucy Jane did pretty good on her first plane ride!

She spent some time sleeping in her daddy's lap!

The first thing Lucy Jane did when we sat her in the sand was grab a handful and put it straight in her mouth! Go figure right! Everything goes straight for her mouth! She is such a mess!

We spent some time playing around acting goofy, drawing in the sand, and just relaxing on the beach! It was such a great time away! Short and sweet!

No More Avacodos!

Ok moms, you know how crazy the evenings can be once you get home from work! I had started laundry, was working on supper, and playing in the floor with Lucy Jane all at the same time! What a great multi-tasker I have become! So thankful for my a.d.d. :)

Rich had been out of town for work and was within 30 minutes of being home, and Lucy Jane was beginning to get a little cranky. I decided to go ahead and give her a bath which by the way in her favorite time of the night it seems. She loves to play with all her toys and splash in the water. She takes a bath just sitting in our bath tub. She doesn't like being in any kind of "baby bath tub" haha! We were practicing taking her bath toys out of their bag and putting them back up.....silly me boring her with trying to 'clean up' at 8 months old.

I notice a funny smile on her face! My precious little girly girl had pooped in the bath tub.....I couldn't believe it! I still can't believe she did that! I pulled her out of the tub so quickly, got her all clean, and put a new diaper on her! She was sitting in the floor playing while I thoroughly cleaned our tub! By the time I picked her up she had already made a mess in her clean diaper! I contribute this evening to her love for avacodos!

I wish someone else would have been here to laugh with me! Definetely a first for me!

More than I Ever Imagined!

I did not do a very good job at keeping up the last time I tried the blogging thing! Here we go again! Round 2!

Lucy Jane is now 8 months old! She is the happiest baby! I was not prepared for the amount of overwhelming, unconditional love that would take over me for her immediately! She is the most amazing gift that God could have ever trusted me with. There are days that I still question, "Am I really a Mommy?" Wow! That is a huge job! I still love teaching and all the rewards that it brings but I wouldn't trade anything in the world for the job of being Lucy Jane's mom!

It is so fun to watch her get into EVERYTHING! Thursday we were let out of school at noon due to bad weather. I was able to spend a half day at home with her that I normally don't get! We spent the afternoon playing inside (waaaaay to cold for us outside) and I took a few pictures!

We are so happy today and can't wait to kiss and love on baby LucyJane. I ask everyone to pray for Hilary's and the babys health on Thursday. God Bless them and keep them safe.

Thanks,
Rich

"When I am filled with cares, Your comfort brings me joy." Psalm 94:19

Friday was my last day of school for the year. (happy/sad) I am not one that does really well with a lot of extra time on my hands. My mind starts to wandering and I have trouble just relaxing. I really thought that having the weekend and the first couple days of this week to just relax would be a good thing; however, when I lay my head down at night is when the "ratwheel begins turning" as Rich puts it!

I was reading in my devotional this morning and as always God had a verse just for me. I love it when that happens. "The peace of God, which surpasses EVERY thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Phil 4:7 Now, I have probably read that verse before but this time it was very comforting. God gives us peace about issues that we are struggling with in life. It doesn't matter what we are struggling with or anxious about his peace is bigger!

What a great way to start off the day!

Whoa Baby!

I can't believe that the day is quickly approaching that we will bring home our baby girl! The doctor told us on Wednesday that he will be inducing us this Thursday. That is like 4 days away....eeeek! I am so excited/nervous/scared/happy and probably any other emotion that you could come up with at the moment!

I've only known for 9 months that we would be having a baby! Rich and I have prepared a nursery, bought clothes, assembled many items, and said many prayers as this day has came closer and closer......but really 4 more days?! I think I am in shock! :) I am so thankful to have felt so great throughout my whole pregnancy! I have been very fortunate!

So....be thinking of us Thursday as we bring our precious baby girl into this world!
