We are so happy today and can't wait to kiss and love on baby LucyJane. I ask everyone to pray for Hilary's and the babys health on Thursday. God Bless them and keep them safe.

Thanks,
Rich

"When I am filled with cares, Your comfort brings me joy." Psalm 94:19

Friday was my last day of school for the year. (happy/sad) I am not one that does really well with a lot of extra time on my hands. My mind starts to wandering and I have trouble just relaxing. I really thought that having the weekend and the first couple days of this week to just relax would be a good thing; however, when I lay my head down at night is when the "ratwheel begins turning" as Rich puts it!

I was reading in my devotional this morning and as always God had a verse just for me. I love it when that happens. "The peace of God, which surpasses EVERY thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Phil 4:7 Now, I have probably read that verse before but this time it was very comforting. God gives us peace about issues that we are struggling with in life. It doesn't matter what we are struggling with or anxious about his peace is bigger!

What a great way to start off the day!

Whoa Baby!

I can't believe that the day is quickly approaching that we will bring home our baby girl! The doctor told us on Wednesday that he will be inducing us this Thursday. That is like 4 days away....eeeek! I am so excited/nervous/scared/happy and probably any other emotion that you could come up with at the moment!

I've only known for 9 months that we would be having a baby! Rich and I have prepared a nursery, bought clothes, assembled many items, and said many prayers as this day has came closer and closer......but really 4 more days?! I think I am in shock! :) I am so thankful to have felt so great throughout my whole pregnancy! I have been very fortunate!

So....be thinking of us Thursday as we bring our precious baby girl into this world!

Wow! I can't believe we are less than 5 weeks away from meeting our little girl! Where has the time gone? I am so thankful to have had my mom help me organize, clean, and decorate the past few weeks. Things are really coming together!

I am so thankful to have such awesome friends, family, and students! My little girls in class threw me a little shower at school. A couple of the girls made homemade blankets and pillows for the baby! These gifts mean so much, especially coming from some very excited little girls! We had a wonderful shower at church last Sunday, too. I was truly overwhlemed by how giving everyone has been to Rich and I at our wedding and baby showers. We are blessed.

I am just starting to get to that point in pregnancy where I am very anxious about her arrival. The unknown is a little scary....and everyone has a different birth experience. I am ready to know how things are going to go and just hold my little girl in my arms. (This is so crazy, I'm really going to be a mom) :) I'm still in shock a little! Feeling her very strong, active body moving constantly inside of me is one of the most amazing feelings I have ever experienced! There are times I wish she would scoot down and allow me to breathe just a little, but it is so reassuring feeling her wiggle around inside! I LOVE how excited Rich is about being a daddy, too! It makes me so happy to see him talk to her, talk about her, and dream with me about how life will be after she makes her big debut! I am so blessed to have a husband that is so ready to be a hands-on, helpful dad!

Here are just a few pics from showers and decorating the nursery! I'm not too crazy about posting pregnant pictures, but I'll throw in just a few! :)

Home Sweet Home!

We moved into our new house the first of December, but have not decorated everything exactly like we want yet. Tonight we put the pedal to the metal and really got the ball rolling. We hung curtains, pictures, and decorated with some of the new things we have bought. Our house is FINALLY starting to look like a home! Rich worked so hard remodeling our house and now we are getting to add the little extras that will make it perfect for us!

Lucy Jane's room is coming along too! Her bed and dresser came in Saturday, so Rich and his dad put it together! We are getting ready to paint her room and her bedding is in the process of being made. Baby Chic is AMAZING! I am so excited about seeing her room come together! I want everything to be perfect before she gets here! I have a little over 13 weeks before we get to meet our little one; however, it seems as if there is so much to do before then! More pictures coming soon!

Oh, Happy Day!

Wow, today Rich and I celebrate 6 months of being married! I can't believe that it has already been half a year! We have had quite an eventful start to our first 6 months! August 2nd we were married, September 12th we found out we were pregnant, and September 17th we closed on our house! I am so thankful that we had no problems getting pregnant, but GEEZ doesn't it usually take a while! :) We both knew we wanted a family and didn't want to wait forever to get that started.....so here we are!

We are really looking forward to welcoming Miss Lucy Jane into our family in May!
I had a great doctors appointment today! We LOVE Dr. McClanahan! He has been wonderful so far! (doesn't even gripe about my weight gain) oops! :) He makes me feel completely normal when I have super silly questions, too!

Lucy received a present from one of my students today! Leah, a sweet girl, bought Lucy a little dress with bloomers! I love how excited my kids are about me having a baby! They are always drawing me pictures of her name and talking about her! One little girl wrote her a letter about how sweet her momma is too! Man, I love being a teacher!

Winter Wonderland

This is my first attempt at blogging. There are so many neat things happening in our life right now, and I want to make sure and have something to go back and look at later!

I am going to be honest! I have been hoping for a snowday all week! I was quite disappointed when I found out we had school yesterday when everyone else was at home! We ended up dismissing school at 2:00, and Rich came to pick me up. (Chaos) The kiddos sure were acting crazy once they saw all the beautiful white snow falling from the sky. Rich and I stopped by the grocery store and came home just as the snow was really starting to fall! It was gorgeous! There is something so peaceful about snow.

After a snack and a little nap, Rich and I decided to load up and go for a ride on the 4-wheeler. Luke (our choc lab) did a very good job of keeping up as we rode down the street! He has to be right in the middle of whatever we are doing! He's quite spoiled!

I woke up this morning to a beautiful view outside! I opened up the blinds so I could see everything covered in thick, white snow. It's been a long time since we have seen this much snow around here. It was so relaxing to not be on a time schedule, too. I made french toast, eggs, and bacon for our LATE breakfast! Rich's mamaw cooked us dinner, and now I am smelling chocolate chip cookies that Rich (who thinks he is betty crocker) just made! What a great day!
